About the role

Reporting directly to the Director of Contracts and Subcontracts for RUK the Associate Director for Contract and Subcontracts with have oversight and responsibility for all commercial and subcontract activities for various RUK business areas that will align to the business requirements. The role will lead a team of Contracts and Subcontract senior managers to inspire their teams to deliver customer excellence by partnering with their business areas. The role holder will be strategic detail oriented have excellent negotiation skills and proven experience of leading a team.

Skills and Experience
  • Extensive years experience in a contract / subcontract role including demonstrable senior management experience of leading teams to deliver business objectives specifically associated with bids proposals high value contract / subcontract agreements and the execution of those agreements including change.
  • Has strong leadership skills to oversee a team of commercial and subcontract professionals.
  • Able to demonstrate resilience to overcome challenging situations.
  • Will be flexible and adaptable that support the needs of the business.
  • Multiple examples of excellent negotiation skills including examples of dispute resolution.
  • Strong evidence of creating proposals that demonstrate value for money for the Customer and deliver or exceed company expectations for bookings.
  • Excellent communication skills both up and down the organisation. Able to effectively communicate at the most senior level within RUK and RAY.
  • Bachelors degree of higher in business or related subject / experience
  • Willingness to travel within the UK for face-to-face meetings and internationally as required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the team including identifying and support the development of top talent including recruitment performance management coaching and team development to deliver functional excellence.
  • Developing the strategy for strategic competitive and complex medium to high value proposal across RUK to help ensure the growth strategy is met or exceeded.
  • Ownership of contract and subcontracts execution strategies that drive margin improvement and increase programme efficiency.
  • Leading contracts and subcontracts projects to ensure execution is compliant in accordance with Raytheon policy.
  • Assisting with the creation and delivery of the RUK Commercial and Subcontracts strategy.
  • Leading and managing RUK contracts and subcontracts bids and programme execution teams.
  • Establishing key strategic relationships with industry partners customer and suppliers in the pursuit of RUK opportunities.
  • Representing RUK in external customer and supplier working groups and initiatives.
  • Building valuable relationships with commercial teams within relevant UK Government groups external advisory bodies.
  • Liaise with RAY Contracts Directors to increase visibility of RUK opportunities and leverage reach back knowledge and support.
  • Support the RAY Strategy & International business area in opportunities as required.
  • Provide strategic thought leadership to develop innovative contracting solutions for key opportunities.
  • Deputising for the Director of Contracts and Subcontracts as and when required.
  • Working with other functions and functional lead to collaborate and deliver the optimum outcome for the business.
  • Establish credible and trusted purposeful relationships with business partners employees and at senior levels within the RAY organisation.
