Electrical Design Engineer

MCS Group is proud to be recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Dungannon. The company specialises in the design and production of complex heavy machinery used across the aviation and transport industries, with a strong focus on innovation, quality, and sustainability.

This role is ideally suited to a motivated engineer with strong electrical design skills and experience working on electrified or off-road vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical schematics, harnesses, and panel layouts in line with industry and legislative standards
• Produce technical documentation including design specs, part lists, and maintenance instructions
• Conduct simulations and technical analysis to validate electrical systems and support component selection
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are accurate and fit for purpose
• Support software and control strategy development in coordination with PLC engineers
• Contribute to new product development and the enhancement of existing product ranges
• Ensure all designs meet internal standards and external regulatory requirements
• Assist with testing, validation, and fault-finding during the build process
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company health & safety procedures

Skills and Experience Required

• HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or relevant hands-on experience)
• Recent extended experience in an electrical design role
• Proficient in using electrical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or EPLAN
• Experience with vehicle electrification or off-road vehicle systems (Desirable)
• Strong working knowledge of electrical standards and design regulations
• Ability to read and produce detailed electrical and technical drawings
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider engineering team
