I'm delighted to be supporting a long-standing, returning client - a UK designer-manufacturer of industrial firefighting equipment and integrated suppression systems used across oil & gas, chemical, marine and heavy manufacturing. They're known for robust engineering, uncompromising safety standards and a supportive culture where people stay and grow.
You'll manage the technical delivery of firefighting/suppression system projects from concept to handover, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specifications.
- Lead engineering design for water-based and foam deluge systems and packaged skids.
- Create 3D models of equipment and skid packages (Inventor or similar).
- Produce and maintain P&IDs, specifications, BoMs, manuals and procedures.
- Run risk assessments; ensure designs meet NFPA and UL/FM requirements.
- Plan and track timelines, budgets and deliverables with internal teams and suppliers.
- Support installation, commissioning, site visits and troubleshooting.
- Keep project records accurate for internal and regulatory review; drive continuous improvement.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Fire Protection Engineering (or related).
- 3+ years in industrial equipment or fire protection/suppression engineering.
- Proficient in CAD (Inventor preferred; AutoCAD beneficial) and analysis tools.
- Clear communicator with solid project management skills; occasional travel as needed.
- Hydraulic modelling (e.g. PipeFlow, SprinkCAD).
- Awareness of hazardous area classifications (ATEX/IECEx).
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and suppression technologies.
