A children's palliative care organization is seeking a Childrens Hospice Nurse in Chipping Barnet. You will provide high-quality nursing care for seriously unwell children, lead a team, and support families. Candidates should have strong clinical and communication skills, as well as palliative care experience. The role offers a competitive salary along with a joining bonus. Join an award-winning team committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and families.
Childrens Hospice Nurse Grade 4 (Equiv. to Band 6) with excellent clinical and communication skills. Suitable for an experienced Band 5 Nurse with palliative care experience ready to step up, or a Band 6 (Equiv) Nurse already working in palliative care or with relevant experience. You’ll have at least one year’s experience caring for children with complex care needs and experience managing a nursing team or supporting students, junior staff nurses or support workers.
You’ll be able to work collaboratively, lead a multi-skilled team, or demonstrate leadership with support from a lead nurse. This role aligns with Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice values of kindness, excellence and courage, and we expect you to share this mission.
We’re expanding our team and seeking more Nurses to join Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice, an award-winning, certified Outstanding team. You’ll join the Noah’s Ark Nurse and Specialist Care team to put the experience of children and families at the heart of all you do, understanding each child’s care needs and what is important to them as individuals.
You’ll provide care at The Ark or in the community, enabling parents and carers to have time for themselves and to create choice for families. You’ll join our experienced nursing team to provide a 24/7 on-call symptom assessment/management service for babies, children and young people in The Ark and the community. You’ll be involved in end-of-life care, offering comfort and supporting families alongside other healthcare professionals. You’ll treat each child and family as an individual and help create memories to support a meaningful death. You’ll deliver high-quality training to team members and family members and provide direct line management support to Band 5 equivalent Nurses and Band 3 & 4 equivalent Specialist Carers.
We exist to help babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions, and their families, make the most of every day. Our mission is to enable those we support to enjoy life as children, not patients; as families, not just as carers. We operate from The Ark in Barnet, with support available in homes, the community, or at our state-of-the-art building. We collaborate with NHS Trusts and other care providers to deliver the best support to children and families.
Based at The Ark in north London (and covering community settings), you will care for seriously unwell babies, children and young people, including those staying with us and those attending day care. The role supports families by providing care across the hospice setting and community settings, with a focus on enabling choice.
You will be either an experienced Band 5 paediatric nurse seeking an upward step, or an experienced Band 6 nurse looking to apply your skills in a hospice setting. You will have excellent clinical and communication skills, be creative, and want to make a positive difference.
