A regional healthcare provider in North Shields is seeking a Cancer Data Co-ordinator to track patients through their cancer pathway, ensuring compliance with national cancer waiting times targets. The ideal candidate should have good IT skills and an understanding of medical terminology, alongside educational qualifications like GCSEs in relevant subjects and an ECDL/ICDL Certificate. Responsibilities include data extraction and maintaining standards for cancer registration. Salary ranges from £24,937 to £26,598 per annum, pro-rata.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to work closely with the Cancer Performance Team on a 12 month secondment tracking patients through their cancer pathway ensuring they meet all of the National Cancer Waiting Times Targets, particularly the 28 day faster diagnosis standard. Applicants should have a good IT skills and an understanding of medical terminology which is essential. The ability to work with concentration and accuracy and to liaise with staff at all levels is also required. The post-holder will be expected to work closely with the Cancer Pathway Coordinators in a team environment.

To extract clinical and administrative data from trust systems and other agreed sources for the purpose of cancer registration, conforming to the National Cancer Registration Service (NCRS), requirements and standards, applying an understanding of the principles of cancer registration. To comply with National Cancer Waiting Times targets and deadlines.
