A local government council is seeking an Information Governance Officer to manage the Council's information asset register, ensure compliance with data protection laws, and support the Information Governance Team. This role also involves leading security incident reporting and maintaining Data Protection compliance. Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication and administrative skills, with a keen attention to detail and ability to prioritize workloads effectively. The Information Governance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the Council Information Asset Register and Record of Processing Activities Register are current and fit for purpose, and for maintaining all Data Privacy Impact Assessments and Data Sharing Agreement registers. The role is also responsible for Data Security Protection Toolkit (DSPT) compliance and is the Lead Officer on recording, reporting and analysis of Security Incidents. The role provides support to the Information Governance Team in all aspects of their work, ensuring compliance in relation to Freedom of Information, Environmental Information Regulations and the Data Protection Act and is based within the Information Governance team, within the Directorate of Law & Corporate Services.
