A local authority is seeking a Senior Public Health Practitioner to lead initiatives that enhance prevention within Adult Social Care. This exciting role involves fostering collaboration and championing evidence-based practices to improve community health outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong public health expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies. This is a unique opportunity to lead work that strengthens prevention within Adult Social Care and ensures public health principles are consistently applied across practice. Working closely with the Public Health Consultant and colleagues in Adult Social Care and Public Health, you will champion evidence-based approaches, support pilot initiatives, and lead targeted learning and development to build skills and confidence across the workforce.
You will foster collaboration between Adult Social Care and Public Health, share best practice, and encourage innovative thinking to improve outcomes for residents. By providing dedicated expertise, you will help strengthen prevention in Adult Social Care, enhance local insight, and support the system to respond proactively to emerging needs.
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking professional with strong public health knowledge and experience. You will have excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills, and be confident in managing programmes that deliver measurable impact. The ability to work collaboratively across teams and organisations, and to translate evidence into practical solutions, is essential.
You should be educated to degree level in a public health-related subject (or have equivalent experience), with a good understanding of health improvement, health protection, and the wider determinants of health. Experience of working in or alongside Adult Social Care would be an advantage.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that you will attend the office at least twice per week.
