A healthcare organization in Wales is seeking two Locum Consultant General Physicians to lead and develop acute medical services at Morriston Hospital. The successful candidates will provide senior clinical leadership within the Acute Medical Assessment Unit and support service innovation. This position requires GMC registration, relevant clinical qualifications, and strong leadership skills. We are seeking to recruit two new Locum Consultant General Physicians with an interest in Acute Medicine to develop and lead our acute medical services as we continue to transform acute medicine at Morriston Hospital.
The successful applicants will lead and strengthen our Acute Medical Assessment Unit as we continue to improve, innovate and refine our clinical model.
The post holder will be required to support out of hours work as a part of an acute physician rota, support the future development of an integrated Same Day Emergency Care service, provide senior clinical leadership to patients in the assessment unit and oversee the medical intake.

There will be ample opportunity to develop new care pathways and work across organisational boundaries to support more integrated models of care. Close working with other services within the division and hospital will also be necessary. Areas of subspecialty interest that would be considered are Same Day Emergency Care, sepsis, management of the deteriorating patient and other areas aligned to Acute Care.
