The successful candidate will lead the setting and drive excellence in childcare and education, and oversee the smooth running of the nursery.
- Leadingandmotivatinga team of early years practitioners to deliveroutstandingcare and education in line with theEYFS framework.
- Managingdaily operations,includingstaff deployment,rotas, and maintaining child-to-staffratiosat all times.
- Ensuring asafe, secure, and happy environmentwhere children can grow, develop, and reach their full potential.
- Developingstrong partnershipswith parents and carers through regularcommunication,progress updates, and involvement in the life of the nursery.
- Acting asDesignated Safeguarding Lead(DSL), with responsibility for promoting and upholding the highest standards ofchild protection and welfare.
- EnsuringcompliancewithOfsted regulations,health & safety legislation, andinternal policies
- Overseeingrecruitment,inductions,supervisions,appraisals, andprofessional developmentof staff.
- Managing nurseryoccupancy,waiting lists, and ensuringfee income is maximisedthrough effectivemarketingandadministration.
- Monitoringbudgets,expensesand contributing to the financial sustainability of the nursery.
- A minimumLevel 3qualification inEarly Years(Level 5or above preferred).
- At least2 years’ experiencein a management rolewithin an early years setting.
- A thorough knowledge of theEYFS,safeguardinglegislation,Ofstedinspection frameworks, nurseryoperations, andbest practicein early years education.
- Strong leadershipandorganisational skills, with the ability toinspire,supportanddevelop a team.
- Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunication skills, with awarmandprofessionalapproach to working with children, families, and colleagues.
- Experience managing nurserybudgets,occupancy, andoperational targets.
- A currentPaediatric First Aid certificateandDesignated Safeguarding Lead(DSL) training (or willingness to complete).
