Job description

Zero2Five are proud to be working with a quality private nursery who are looking to employ an experienced Nursery Manager for their x40 place setting near Worthing, West Sussex. The successful candidate will lead the setting and drive excellence in childcare and education, and oversee the smooth running of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadingandmotivatinga team of early years practitioners to deliveroutstandingcare and education in line with theEYFS framework.
  • Managingdaily operations,includingstaff deployment,rotas, and maintaining child-to-staffratiosat all times.
  • Ensuring asafe, secure, and happy environmentwhere children can grow, develop, and reach their full potential.
  • Developingstrong partnershipswith parents and carers through regularcommunication,progress updates, and involvement in the life of the nursery.
  • Acting asDesignated Safeguarding Lead(DSL), with responsibility for promoting and upholding the highest standards ofchild protection and welfare.
  • EnsuringcompliancewithOfsted regulations,health & safety legislation, andinternal policies
  • Overseeingrecruitment,inductions,supervisions,appraisals, andprofessional developmentof staff.
  • Managing nurseryoccupancy,waiting lists, and ensuringfee income is maximisedthrough effectivemarketingandadministration.
  • Monitoringbudgets,expensesand contributing to the financial sustainability of the nursery.
Essential Criteria
  • A minimumLevel 3qualification inEarly Years(Level 5or above preferred).
  • At least2 years’ experiencein a management rolewithin an early years setting.
  • A thorough knowledge of theEYFS,safeguardinglegislation,Ofstedinspection frameworks, nurseryoperations, andbest practicein early years education.
  • Strong leadershipandorganisational skills, with the ability toinspire,supportanddevelop a team.
  • Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunication skills, with awarmandprofessionalapproach to working with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Experience managing nurserybudgets,occupancy, andoperational targets.
  • A currentPaediatric First Aid certificateandDesignated Safeguarding Lead(DSL) training (or willingness to complete).
