Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement for their client in Lancashire. The ideal candidate will have a strong procurement background, experience in managing supplier relationships, and the ability to mentor a small team. Qualifications
- Previous experience at Senior Buyer or Category Manager level.

- Strong IT and numerical skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement process to maintain stock.
- Negotiate and manage supplier relationships.
- Work with internal teams to prioritize purchasing.
Skills
Portfolio Procurement has been engaged by our leading Lancashire based client to recruit for a Senior Buyer.
- Lead the procurement of goods and materials to ensure sufficient stock holding is maintained
- Manage new and existing supplier relationships
- Negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal pricing
- Identify, quantify and onboarding of new suppliers
- Work closely with internal teams to turn demand plans into purchasing priorities
- Manage the end-to-end process of purchasing
- Manage develop and mentor a small team
- Previous experience of at least Senior Buyer/Category Manager level
- Commercially astute and aware
- Previous experience a team
- Good IT, literacy, and numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
