Construction Buyer – Teesside

£35,000 - £45,000 + benefits

Lemon Dr Recruitment is partnering with a leading multi-disciplined construction contractor in Teesside to recruit a Construction Buyer. This role supports a growing procurement team and plays a key part in managing suppliers, securing competitive prices, and ensuring smooth project delivery.

The Role

You’ll work closely with Buyers, QSs, Estimators and site teams, handling purchasing activity across multiple live construction and civil engineering projects. This is a fast-paced, office-based role (7 : 30am–5pm) within a friendly, professional team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase construction materials and subcontractor services.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to maintain pricing, quality and reliability.
  • Negotiate rates, discounts and terms to support budgets and programmes.
  • Forecast material needs and plan deliveries with site and commercial teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, H&S and environmental standards.
  • Review specs with engineers and propose cost-efficient alternatives.
  • Raise POs, maintain accurate procurement data and improve internal processes.
  • Resolve invoice queries and monitor market trends to support buying decisions.
