Working within the luxurious surroundings of our beautifully restored Taymouth Castle Estate, as well as at the breathtaking Glenlyon Estate, Moness Resort, and Kenmore Village, we are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician – Builder. You will report to the Facilities Maintenance Manager and be involved in carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks, fault rectification, fault investigations, project-based work, and emergency call outs. Your coverage will include the extensive facilities across the Kenmore Village, Glen Lyon, and Taymouth Castle Estates.
This specialist role encompasses all areas, including guest homes, staff housing, assets, buildings, infrastructure, grounds, pathways, and roads throughout the estate. Facilities include lighting, HVAC, utilities, fire safety, access equipment, and company vehicles.

As a Facilities Maintenance Assistant, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of utilities and facilities, from guest and staff housing to all buildings and infrastructure. Responsibilities include lighting, HVAC, water, fire safety, access equipment, plant vehicles, and grounds maintenance.
You will support the completion of all planned maintenance, repairs, and fault investigations, ensuring high standards are met, and assist with logistical issues across the estate. You will carry out project work, respond to emergency call outs, monitor asset operation, and coach staff on proper asset and system use.
Follow procedures for work orders, preventative maintenance, and SOPs, maintaining detailed documentation supported by photographs. You will plan and coordinate utility shutdowns and start-ups, interpret technical drawings, challenge SOPs for continuous improvement, and conduct site assessments.
Assist with maintenance, installation, and repair of roofing, masonry, flooring, drainage, roads, and pathways. Perform general building tasks such as bricklaying, plastering, carpentry, tiling, and basic plumbing.
Prepare sites, dig foundations, and build sub-structures for internal and external works. Work with trades, maintain a clean and safe environment, adhere to health and safety policies, and report progress to supervisors.
Maintain work vehicles, conduct pre-use checks, and ensure they are well maintained. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed.

Proven experience in general building or construction, with a relevant technical qualification such as NVQ in Construction, Bricklaying, Carpentry, or a related trade. At least five years of hands-on experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects under pressure are required.
Knowledge of Scottish building regulations, site safety procedures, and the ability to work from plans and drawings are essential. Safe work practices, tool and machinery competence, and familiarity with mobile reporting applications are also required.
This role involves frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting equipment weighing 23kg or more across various locations indoors and outdoors.
