Title: Quantity Surveyor/Senior Quantity Surveyor (DOE)

Location: Exeter

Salary: £55,000 to £75,000 + £6k car allowance + 5% bonus + benefits

Our client is one of the leading Tier 1 main contractors in the UK with an established reputation within the South West market across new build construction sectors. Typical projects include major new build construction across Education, Public Sector, Healthcare, and Defence, ranging from £10 million to over £150 million.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the regional commercial team for a leading Tier 1 main contractor. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial aspects of packages between £150k - £7m as part of a larger £100m new build project in Dorchester. Reporting to a Commercial Manager, the role offers strong development opportunities, career progression, and the potential to lead larger projects. The position is site-based with flexible and remote working options.

1. Ensure optimum commercial return for the project.
2. Prepare accurate cost/value reconciliation reports.
3. Agree interim valuations to maximize commercial advantage.
4. Assist in final accounts with subcontractors to maximize margins.
5. Prepare subcontract orders in accordance with procedures and project schedules.
6. Maintain control of subcontractor accounts and minimize variations.
7. Manage subcontract valuations and correspondence.
8. Perform duties as a quantity surveyor on projects as instructed.
9. Prepare monthly cost/value reconciliation reports.
10. Develop turnover cash flow forecasts and update them regularly.

• At least 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Relevant HND, HNC, or Degree qualification.
• Experience working on new build projects of at least £8m.
• Experience with main contractors is essential.
• Keen to progress a long-term career.
• Commutable to North Somerset and within the South West.
• Experience in commercial/non-resi sectors.
