Job summary

A leading Financial Services organization is looking for a Systems Accountant to join their team in Portsmouth. This role involves leading monthly group consolidations using Cognos Controller and providing systems support. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in month-end processes and advanced Excel skills. Enjoy a flexible remote-first setup with one day per week in-office in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Cognos Controller in a group finance setting.
  • Strong understanding of month-end close, consolidation, and intercompany processes.
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as Infor SunSystems or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VBA macro development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly group consolidations using Cognos Controller.
  • Manage ledger operations, FX rate loading, and group-level journal postings.
  • Support internal reporting and year-end audit processes.
  • Provide Level 2 systems support and liaise with external IT providers.
  • Maintain user access and onboarding/offboarding processes.
  • Extract and reconcile data from ERP systems.
  • Automate reporting tasks using Excel VBA and build templates.
