Job summary
A leading national company is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their team in Welshpool, UK. The role involves managing financial reporting, period-end closing, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have CPA/CA qualifications and at least 3 years of experience in a similar position. Strong communication skills and experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 are desirable.

Our client a $2Billion-dollar National success story with a clear strategy in becoming a leader in its sector is looking for a Financial Accountant for their next stage of growth in Australia.
The Financial Accountant is a key contributor to the integrity and timeliness of transactional and reporting processes from record to report. A central role within the organization, the Financial Accountant partners with Operational Administration to ensure seamless, accurate and near real-time capture, translation and recording of financial transactions. This role liaises closely with Group to ensure the business meets all external reporting requirements.
- Period-end closing and reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including timely capitalisation of assets.
- Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and process journal adjustments where required.
- Reconcile the insurance claims register to the balance sheet and liaise with internal stakeholders.
- Tax and regulatory submissions (BAS, PAYG, FBT), with prior fuel tax credit experience desirable.
- Support for external audits
- Provide direct support to the Manager – Financial Reporting and Group Financial Controller with ad hoc duties.
- CPA/CA qualified with minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Financial Accountant role.
- Experience in fixed asset/asset maintenance.
- Ability to work with and optimise data, systems, and processes for reporting accuracy.
- High attention to detail, self-motivation, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or D365 desirable.
