Job description

Sharp Consultancy are working with a well-established and growing group headquartered in Rotherham, who are looking to appoint a Group Accountant to join their high-performing finance function.

This is an ideal opportunity for a first or second time mover from practice seeking exposure to group-level reporting, consolidation, and commercial insight.

The Role

As Group Accountant, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the financial management and reporting of multiple business units within the group. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, you will gain comprehensive exposure to consolidation, technical accounting, and business performance analysis.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparation of monthly group consolidations and group financial reporting packs

  • Supporting the production of statutory accounts for the group and its subsidiaries

  • Coordinating with external auditors during the year-end audit process

  • Completing balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, and ensuring strong financial controls across the group

  • Assisting with budgeting, reforecasting, and long-term planning

  • Providing detailed variance analysis, commentary, and insight to support senior leadership decisions

  • Monitoring group cash flow and contributing to treasury management activities

  • Supporting M&A integration, group-wide process improvements, and project-based initiatives

  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and contributing to continuous technical development within the finance team
