A local government authority in the UK is seeking a dedicated individual to work with young people with Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The role focuses on aiding their transition into adulthood, emphasizing education and employment outcomes. Responsibilities include developing opportunities for SEND young people, supporting their education and training transitions, and maintaining critical data to identify and address NEET situations. This position is ideal for those passionate about empowering vulnerable youth to achieve successful futures.
The postholder will work with young people with an Education Health and Care Plan from age 14 - 25 to support their transition into adulthood with particular emphasis on education, training and employment outcomes including supported internships and inclusive apprenticeships. The role will contribute to the Preparation for Adulthood strategy by improving outcomes for SEND learners, ensuring accurate data is reported to internal and external stakeholders including DfE, and informing proposals to cease EHCPs. This will be delivered through impartial information advice and guidance in a range of locations including schools and other venues both internal and external to Hull City Council.
