What you will be doing

3E is seeking a dynamic Senior Sales & Business Development Manager to consolidate our position as a leader in the renewable energy consultancy market in France and expand our services into North Africa.

As a strategic thinker and seasoned hunter, you will drive our consultancy business forward by nurturing existing relationships and establishing new partnerships. This role offers the opportunity to lead and innovate, making a significant impact on our growth trajectory.

The position will be based in Paris and will require the candidate to travel nationally and internationally from time to time.

The ideal candidate has a background within the wind and/or solar consultancy business, brings an existing network, a proven track-record of successful business development and sales, and is heavily committed to further growing the 3E business with an innovative mindset.

Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new opportunities in the French and North African renewable energy markets, focusing on consultancy services.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to achieve growth targets and align with the strategic vision for 2026.
    • Cultivate credibility with decision-makers in key stakeholders across the renewable energy sector.
  2. Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
    • Understand and anticipate client needs, translating them into actionable business opportunities.
    • Prepare and deliver compelling technical-economic proposals tailored to client requirements.
    • Guide clients through the sales process from lead identification to contract signature, ensuring a seamless transition to our operational teams.
  3. Market Insight and Networking:
    • Stay abreast of market dynamics and regulatory frameworks impacting renewable energy development in France and North Africa.
    • Expand and nurture your network within IPPs, project developers, lenders, and investment funds.
    • Identify influencers and decision-makers, building trust and intimacy to drive business growth.
  4. Upselling and Cross-Selling:
    • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling across other 3E regional offices or business units.
    • Collaborate closely with internal teams to leverage synergies and maximize client value.
  5. Reporting and Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate records and promptly adhere to reporting policies and procedures using tools such as SAP and CRM systems.

As part of this role, you will be assisted by a junior sales assistant, primarily based in Paris, with an alternative option for Toulouse offices, requiring frequent weekly travel to Paris. This position is not a 9-5 job; it\'s a lifestyle that involves business conducted outside office hours. We are looking for an intrapreneur who enjoys selling, growing their network, identifying influencers, and building trust with clients.

Your Profile
  • Seasoned hunter and networker with a proven track record of closing deals and driving business growth.
  • Hold an Engineering degree, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Extensive understanding of the French and North African renewable energy sectors, with a strong network and experience in technical advisory or owner\’s engineering.
  • Previous experience with technical advisory and/or owner’s engineering business, preferably in the renewable energy sector or related industries.
  • Balanced profile in both business development and sales, with project management skills to support the execution of complex projects.
  • Proven track record in promoting at conferences, fairs, and other informal events like breakfasts and afterworks, with availability to attend such events as required.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for getting things done and navigating formal contexts while building trust and intimacy.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, non-traditional work environment, with a lifestyle approach to the role rather than a formal corporate mindset.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Consultancy within the Renewable Energy sector, preferably in Business Development or Sales roles.
What gives you extra points
  • Knowledge of Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese or other west-european countries languages.
  • Experience and network in the DOM-TOM and African French speaking countries within the renewable energy market.
  • Previous experience in managing projects from development to operation, including successful financial close of utility scale projects.
