Equal Plus Consulting has been engaged to search for an SAP Project Manager to work for a client based in Paris, France.
Title : SAP Project Manager
Start Date : TBD
Term : 12 Months
Location : EMEA based, ideally Paris, France
Reports to : Global Director SAP Programs
Responsibilities
- The SAP Project Manager oversees the scoping, estimation, planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, managing the seconded project team on a day-to-day basis. Team size is project dependent.
- 1. Delivery Management
- Create project and workshop plans in line with the agreed scope and schedule, determining necessary resources for project execution.
- Own project deliverables, manage risks, and ensure the application of project methodology.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and best practices for project management, in collaboration with the PMO Lead.
- Manage day-to-day project activities, ensuring effective communication within the project team.
- Ensure effective stakeholder communication and engagement, providing regular updates and reports on project status.
- Facilitate project kick-off, project meetings, and closure meetings to align all stakeholders.
- Manage project scope changes, ensuring all adjustments are properly documented and approved.
- 2. Team & Resource Management
- Liaise with Product Managers and Demand & Capacity Lead to agree on capacity for part-time allocated experts and ensure their performance is managed in collaboration with the Expert’s Product Manager.
- Prioritize and distribute resources and work, following up on the budget and taking necessary corrective actions to address project deviations.
- 3. Monitoring, Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Conduct regular project reviews and assessments, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks and issues to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide status reporting to the project steering committee.
- Track and report on project budgets, resource utilization, key milestones, and timeline adherence.
- Ensure quality assurance is performed throughout the project lifecycle, including deliverable validation and lessons learned documentation.
- 4. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to align project objectives with overall program goals and portfolio priorities.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, incorporating feedback and best practices into future projects.
Role organization and scope
The SAP Project Manager is part of the broader SAP Programs department in the Global SAP CoE.
The SAP Programs organization leads the delivery of major transformation initiatives, new implementations, and business-driven projects across the enterprise. It manages the SAP project portfolio, applies proven project management methodologies, and ensures successful execution from planning through to hypercare.
This team coordinates cross-functional resources, manages risks, schedules, and budgets, and partners closely with both business and IT stakeholders to ensure that projects deliver tangible value and strategic outcomes.
Typical Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, related field or equivalent work experience
ESSENTIAL
- Five more years of experience in IT or business / industry with at least three full lifecycle SAP implementations
- Project Management Professional certification
- Proven experience in deploying SAP cloud solutions that integrate with SAP ECC and / or S / 4HANA e.g. Ariba, Concur, C4C
- Ability to engage information system experts for estimations, work breakdown structure, technical excellence and performance management
- Ability to analyze, develop options, build consensus and make decisions based on many variables
- Have an understanding of the overall strategy and integration of business processes and information systems in SW's environment
- Experience of influencing stakeholders across the organization and within complex contexts
- Strong communication and management skills with the ability to influence at all levels and in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role
- Strong sense of self, ethics and effort, as well as the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve important goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
