What You'll Be Doing

The function is subject to the compliance rules established and regulated by the AMF (Autorité de Marchés Financiers). You are required to familiarize yourself with and comply with the rules of compliance on the financial markets as well as to complete any training required in order to comply with the legal compliance requirements as mandated by AMF and Stifel.

What We're Looking For

• Lead, guide, negotiate, and draft transactional legal activities (in the UK) and Europe, ensuring transactions, policies, and procedures comply with relevant laws and support long-term business objectives.
• Become a trusted advisor to Stifel Europe's senior shareholders. Build strong relationships and work with senior management to help them achieve their strategic goals.
• Provide business insight, including strategy, processes, procedures, new initiatives, and products, highlighting legal impacts.
• Ensure close communication and collaboration with the General Counsel and the legal team in the United States. Work proactively with other legal professionals for coordinated legal risk management.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
• Proactively advise the company on strategy, legal issues, and risk management.
• Ensure the legal and regulatory framework remains appropriate for the business size and nature.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, advising senior management on adaptations, and support regulators as needed.
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team performance goals.

Education & Experience

• Qualified lawyer with a good understanding of European capital markets transactions and investment banking activities.
• High-level experience in a senior role within a law firm or a reputable company, or both.
