Overview
We are looking for a HSE Project Manager for one of our clients with the following details:
Location: Saint Nazaire, France
Start Date: T1 2026
Contract Duration: 1 year firm + 2 one-year options
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Coming from a Bac + 4/5 training (engineer or 3rd cycle diploma)
- Minimum 8 years' experience in a similar field
- Experience with company desired
- Experience with construction sites (yard) desired
- Knowledge of electrical risks (accreditation required)
- Fluent written and oral English
- Ability to adapt to integrate into project teams
- Ability to develop staff awareness/training materials
- Knowledge of the HSE requirements of a construction site
- Knowledge of the applicable HSE requirements for the construction of electrical substations
- Resistance to stress, ability to react to possible accidents
- Writing and organizational skills to work on several projects in parallel
- Communication and listening skills to carry out missions by integrating the multicultural dimension and the organizational complexity inherent in this type of project
- Holder of a valid B licence
- Successful experience on an offshore berth construction site would be an advantage
Responsibilities
- Is the HSE contact person for the project/product
- Conducts regular site visits, audits and evaluates the HSE performance of construction teams and subcontractors
- Facilitates the integration of companies working directly for the company on the yard and ensures that they are aware of and comply with the applicable HSE requirements and standards
- Participates in the HSE meetings on site, alongside the HSE teams of the yard, to reinforce and guarantee the proper consideration of the HSE rules
- Ensures that the HSE reporting requested by company is reliable, complete and sent on time
- Ensures that risk analyses (HIRA) are properly planned and carried out according to operations. He participates in and contributes to these risk analysis meetings
- Participates in investigations following HSE events (Accident, incident, pollution, etc.) and ensures that the content of these reports corresponds to the reality of the facts
- Ensures that FES and accident/incident reports are communicated and that corrective and preventive actions are tracked and implemented
- Communicates the HSE indicators consolidated by company as well as any top-down HSE information that must be known on site
- Drafts the HSE procedures necessary for the implementation of the project
- Participates in the cross-functional documentary preparation (DIIREM Info safety / environment, memo, etc.)
- Participates in the integration of new company and service providers within the project team
- Monitors PPE for the project
- Participates in the consolidation of feedback
- Participates in the development and updating of prevention plans as well as the associated KPIs (under decree 77)
