SMATCH Consulting is supporting the European Society of Cardiology with the recruitment of their Corporate Relations Director (F/M).

The ESC's mission is to reduce the burden of cardiovascular disease. It’s a world leader in the discovery and dissemination of best practices in cardiovascular medicine. It’s a volunteer‑led, not‑for‑profit medical society. Members and decision‑makers are scientists, clinicians, nurses and allied professionals working in all fields of cardiology.

The current Corporate Relations Director is moving to another management position within ESC, which is why it is recruiting a replacement. The position, which is part of the Executive Committee, is a permanent contract based near Nice (Sophia Antipolis - Biot), with a remote work agreement.

Description

Lead a high‑performing team responsible for managing contracts and cultivating partnerships within the healthcare sector, including pharmaceutical, diagnostics, and medical device organizations. Secure funding across critical areas such as congresses, events, education, registries & data, and advocacy & policy, etc. Provide vision and direction for business development, drive team performance, and foster relationships with current and prospective partners to support ESC’s mission.

Main Responsibilities
  • Mission #1: Develop and implement strategies to secure funding for ESC initiatives among industry partners, including congresses, events, educational programs, registries & data projects, and advocacy efforts in order to ensure the application of annual income objectives for the Society
  • Mission #2: Ensure high‑end delivery of products & services for industry partners at ESC Congresses in order to ensure partner satisfaction and ensure repeat business across this key flagship ESC product category
  • Mission #3: Guarantee a strong innovation & product development cycle across ESC products for industry sponsorship in order to ensure engaging product pitch presentations and timely delivery of the product opportunities as set out in the annual sales objectives
  • Mission #4: Offer the Society a regular strategic overview of key industry market insights including macro market dynamics, client strategy, emerging opportunities & compliance oversight
Required profile

We are looking for a candidate with a higher education background, specialised in business, healthcare, or event management.

You have more than 7 years of experience in business‑oriented roles such as Sales Manager / Sales Director, strategic partnership development, or in positions involving responsibilities similar to those expected for this role in a healthcare organization.

You have strong leadership and team management skills, and you are recognised for your communication abilities and your capacity to build strong professional relationships.
