Un organisme de recherche public en France recrute un chercheur/ superviseur pour un projet d'excavation archéologique à Dadan, spécialisé en période antique tardive. Le candidat idéal doit avoir un doctorat en archéologie et au moins 10 ans d'expérience dans le domaine. Il ou elle sera responsable de la supervision des fouilles, de la gestion des données et de la rédaction de publications scientifiques. Un bon niveau d'anglais et des compétences en outils informatiques (CAO, systèmes d'information géographique) sont requis.

Under the supervision of the DADAN project coordinator, the researcher/area supervisor will conduct excavations, supervise and publish research on the late antique sector of the site, occupied from the 3rd to the 7th century AD (https:/doi.org/10.1111/aae.70009). He or she will also assist the director in the logistical and scientific preparation of excavation campaigns and in the management of data from the excavation.
The DADAN project is an archaeological excavation and exploration project in the ancient city of Dadan (al-Ula region), one of the main oasis cities in northwestern Arabia, occupied from the end of the third millennium BCE (Early Bronze Age) to the 11th century CE (Early Islamic period) (https://www.orient-mediterranee.com/program/dadan-arabie-saoudite/). The project is led by CNRS UMR 8167 (coordinator: Jérôme Rohmer) and funded by the French Agency for the Development of AlUla. The minimum duration of the project is set at 27 months, from November 2025 to March 2028. The agent will be welcomed into the team “Mondes sémitiques” of UMR 8167, on the CNRS campus in Villejuif.
