Job summary
A leading AI collaboration firm is seeking an AI Language Expert specializing in Portuguese for a remote position. The candidate will evaluate AI-generated content, assess learner proficiency, and provide feedback to enhance language models. Native-level proficiency in Portuguese, experience in language teaching, and fluency in English are essential qualifications. The role offers flexible scheduling with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week.

AI Language Expert — Portuguese
Type: Hourly contractor
Compensation: $25–$30/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: Minimum 15 hours/week
Schedule: Fully asynchronous, work on your own time
Start Date: Rolling — applications reviewed as projects launch
- Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
- Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.
- Apply expert judgment to identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
- Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models.
- Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.
- Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction.
Must-Have
- Native-level proficiency in Portuguese.
- Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language.
- Fluency in English (C1/C2).
- Familiarity with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks.
- Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing.
- Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology.
- Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows.
