Ecostars is a hotel sustainability certification born in 2021 that responds to the sustainable travel trend by awarding eco-stars through a registered algorithm that calculates the environmental impact per stay of each hotel based on three basic parameters: energy efficiency, water efficiency, and sustainable commitments (CO2, circular economy, sustainable food, social impact and animal welfare). The evaluation process is simple, free of charge, automated and statistical -based on an algorithm and comparative benchmark tables-, globally scalable, objective, unbiased and comprehensive, plus 95%+ faster than any other in the market.
Due to these advantages, Ecostars has already become in one year the #1 ESG certificate in Spain and #3 globally, present in 30+ countries across Europe, Latin America and Africa. More than 1,500 hotels, including large chains as H10, Vincci, Catalonia, Eurostars, Abba or Ilunion have been certified.
Additionally, thanks to our alliances with international entities such as the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO/OMT) and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) we have the institutional support to continue growing at exponential rates. Monetization is also a reality, proving that creating an environmental company is also compatible with developing a profitable business.
About the role
Ecostars is looking for a rockstar Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), with functions both of Marketing, Commercial and Growth, to lead the expansion and brand positioning of our certificate and SaaS.
Ecostars now has 2.000 hotels certified and 30% of our base under paid subscription models. Your target will be to multiply by x3 our certified hotels in 2024 (achieving 6.000+ hotels certified) and x2 our penetration of subscription models (achieving 60% of our hotel base under premium packages). Similar levels of hiper-growth targets will be expected in the subsequent years, being responsible of growing our revenue each year by 100%+.
For this task you will rely mainly on technology, a well-defined product and a (small) sales team. Our market is the world so scalability is crucial. Previous experience on hiper-growth positions as CRO / CGO, in marketing and creativity as CMO, and in commercial tasks as CCO are strong credentials. Additionally, the startup working environment is special, so previous experience on rocket startups is very appreciated.
Reporting directly to CEO and member of the executive committee, you will have the posibility to make an impact and work for one of the most promising startups in Spain. Your remuneration will also include an equity package.
Requirements
We are very demanding for this position, and applicants MUST meet all the following requirements:
A) 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 2 as Chief Revenue Officer or Chief Growth Officer (CRO / CGO)
B) International growth track record: >€1M revenue growth, 100% yoy
C) Experience managing Marketing actions, ideally as CMO
D) CRM Mastery: Hubspot leader, strong experience
E) Team growth: built and managed teams of 5+ people
G) Based in Madrid, Spain
