We are Fut-Ure IT & Tech Recruitment Group, an international IT and tech headhunting agency. We are currently seeking to fill a Senior Software Engineer position for one of our clients. This role involves a direct employment agreement with our client.

The client is a prominent digital advertising service provider, offering self-service and real-time bidding options. Its platform provides access to a wide marketplace and advanced optimization tools. Advertisers can bid on ad spaces in real-time, while publishers can monetize traffic securely with comprehensive control features.

• Position: Senior Software Engineer (Golang)
• Type of work: Hybrid role from Barcelona, Spain.
• Work from office requirements: some days working from home and some days working from the office each week (flexible / to be agreed).
• Type of contract: Full-time longterm B2B or Freelance Contract. Also, there is a possibility of full-time permanent employment agreement in Barcelona, Spain (for candidates who are willing to relocate to Spain).
• Contract location: Barcelona, Spain (Headquarters).
• Type of company: International company, around 50 employees with offices in Los Angeles, Luxembourg and Barcelona.

• Must-have tech skills: Golang, Kubernetes, experience in adtech industry.
• Must-have business / managerial skills requirements: Experience in adtech industry. The project involves work related to the adult industry, so applicants should be comfortable with this context. However, exposure to such content will be minimal, limited to approximately 2-3 hours per month for conducting occasional technical reviews.

The client operates a high-performance ad server capable of processing billions of requests daily. Recently, they successfully completed a significant transition, moving from outdated systems to a fully modernized, cloud-based infrastructure. This achievement represents a major milestone in their technological evolution and positions them for future advancements.

Following the cloud migration, this role will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement and innovation. Key responsibilities include:

– Conducting large-scale refactoring of existing codebases.

– Developing new, scalable features.

– Optimizing cloud infrastructure to reduce costs.

– Enhancing and expanding frontend functionalities.

Tech stack: Golang (primary language), Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, PostgreSQL.

– Collaborating across all components of the AdTech stack, including ad delivery systems, operating system optimization, and network-level enhancements.

– Leading the technical direction and development of our newly established platform.

– Operating within a public cloud environment, particularly within the Linux ecosystem.

– Ensuring systems are designed to scale effectively and remain reliable, capable of handling increased traffic while delivering ads seamlessly.

– Continuously refining and enhancing existing systems and technologies to improve the performance and impact of digital advertising campaigns.

– Working closely with cross-functional teams such as marketers, designers, data analysts, and product managers to ensure platform development aligns with business objectives.

– Diagnosing and resolving complex software issues by implementing efficient, practical, and long-term technical solutions.

– Mentoring and supporting Software Engineers to foster their professional growth through guidance, training, and learning opportunities.

– Establishing and monitoring high-level KPIs for the IT department to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

– A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development is required.

– Excellent level of English

– Comprehensive understanding of the ad-tech industry, with a particular focus on ad-serving systems, is necessary.

– Experience working with programming languages such as Scala, or C is considered an advantage.

– Familiarity with programmatic advertising concepts, including demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), and real-time bidding (RTB), is highly desirable.

– Strong ability to identify and analyze business requirements and deliver appropriate technical solutions to meet those needs.

We are looking for individuals who:

– Have a comprehensive understanding of complex software systems and can effectively grasp how all components function together within the complete development architecture.

– Are proficient in working across both backend and frontend components. However, it is important to note that this is **not** a web development role, as many candidates often misinterpret it as being primarily focused on frontend development.
