A leading global credit rating agency is seeking a Senior Analyst to manage the credit ratings process within the Retail, Food, and Leisure industries in the EMEA region. The successful candidate will develop analytical skills, maintain high compliance standards, and build strong relationships with issuers and investors. A Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in credit analysis are essential. This role involves significant interaction with senior management in a high-pressure environment.
Grade Level (for internal use): 11
You will join a dynamic team of 21 analysts located across London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, and Madrid. This team focuses on the Retail, Food, and Leisure industries in Europe, which includes food manufacturers, apparel and specialty retailers, restaurants, travel, lodging, parks, gaming, and sports companies. A significant number of the companies we analyze are owned by private‑equity investors, resulting in highly leveraged capital structures and a very high proportion of high‑yield credits. Our work is fast‑paced and driven by continuous credit events, as a result of shifting consumption patterns, changes in operating performance or in local regulations, dividend recapitalizations, and refinancing and M&A transactions. As part of a highly collaborative environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring sound ratings and rating transitions for a portfolio of 12–14 EMEA‑based corporates.
You will work with a cross‑functional team of analysts and industry specialists across several European locations.
As a Senior Analyst, you will significantly influence the credit ratings process within the European Retail, Food, and Leisure industries. Your work will directly contribute to S&P Global Ratings’ reputation as the leading credit rating agency in these industries. You will be responsible for developing your analytical and communication skills to become the primary analyst on your assigned names, ensuring adherence to high quality and compliance standards throughout the rating process.
This position offers a unique opportunity to engage with senior management teams of major corporate entities and investors in the EMEA region. You will develop strong relationships with issuers, intermediaries, and investors, enhancing your professional network. Additionally, you will gain valuable experience in a high‑pressure environment, allowing you to refine your skills in credit analysis and stakeholder management.
