Our client, a technological company, is searching for a full-time Data Architect. Working in the Ground Systems department and reporting to the Head of Data&AI Platform, the Data Architect will lead the usage of data assets across the organization by defining appropriate data models, ensuring optimal data integration, and establishing standards for data management. This involves designing and implementing robust data architectures that support business goals and enhance decision-making processes.

The Data Architect is a senior role that will work with interdisciplinary teams and departments involved in the Data&AI pipeline. The role will design the company’s data strategy from the ground up, including designing data models and ensuring the use of best practices for data access.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in designing highly scalable data architectures, both batch and streaming, at hyperscale (hundreds of TBs per day) data volumes, and for multi-region deployment. Deep experience with cloud-native data structures and types, both structured and unstructured, is required. The candidate should have experience with high availability, low latency data architectures for hyperscale big-data management and processing, considering cost-effectiveness, using Azure data stack services such as Azure Databricks.

• Designing and implementing end-to-end data solutions using Azure services, such as Azure SQL Database, Data Factory, Data Lake Store, Data Lake Analytics, Stream Analytics, Azure Storage, Cosmos DB, among others, aligned with the Data Governance Framework to ensure data quality, lineage, and security.
• Translating product requirements into data solutions and ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals.
• Developing and maintaining data models supporting data structure and flow within the organization.
• Implementing monitoring metrics and strategies to ensure performance and integrity of data systems.
• Developing strategies for data acquisition, recovery, and archiving to ensure data continuity and availability.
• Collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and cloud teams to resolve technical issues and support infrastructure needs.
• Ensuring compliance with security and privacy regulations in data solutions.
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to maintain efficiency and security.
• Staying updated with best practices and new developments in Azure to optimize data usage and storage.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering.
• 7+ years of experience as a Data Architect for cloud-native big data platforms.
• Deep knowledge of Azure data cloud services and technologies.
• Knowledge of Lakehouse and data mesh architectures.
• Experience designing data platforms for large datasets and data observability.
• Experience working with international teams.
• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills in English.

• Experience managing data projects from planning to execution.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning, AI, GIS software, Data and AI pipelines, DevOps, and MLOps.
• Azure Data and Databricks Certifications.
• Experience with ESRI and geospatial data.
• Higher education such as Masters or above.
• International work experience.
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish.
