Position Overview
In-Service-Support Project Manager (ISS PM) for Training Center Operations (TCO) Canada – Level I
Within CAE Defense & Security International, our TCO Canada organization spreads across the country through 10 cities with over 40 training devices in support of DND Training Delivery to the next generation of aircrew and maintenance crews. Our main objective goes beyond the delivery of simulators, courseware and training solutions. We ensure training delivery and training operations. We focus on long term relationship with our customer, as we ensure the sustainability and improve the training solution as it evolves through the lifecycle of the aircraft evolution within the requirements of our contracts being the training partner of choice for Canada.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the execution of the MFTD CP140 ISS projects, in close collaboration with the Training Center Site Manager and support functions within CAE and as per the PMO governance.
Manage the financial and operational resources necessary to meet contractual and company related obligations of the project to ensure profitability
Develop and execute Project Management Plans for low-medium complexity projects
Establish goals and objectives for low-medium complexity projects of major financial impact
Provide day-to-day leadership for team members
Manage and execute multiple projects, simultaneously involving a variety of resourcing, scheduling, subcontracting and other project management activities
Develop procedures and guidelines for executing project management activities
Support identification of deficient areas in customer’s technical specifications and suggest new technical solutions
Negotiate terms and conditions of subcontract and work share agreements
Resolve project work/schedule problems by reprioritizing activities
Act as primary liaison with customer on project matters including negotiations and securing customer acceptance
Support technical, cost and schedule aspects of proposals
Implement project work breakdown structures
Coordinate technical activities on projects
Recommend and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
Develop/capitalize on opportunities for contract amendments and/or additional contracts to extend project scope, solve scope/financial problems or improve fixed-price financial returns by reducing costs
Required skills & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, commerce or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of related project management experience, or equivalent leadership experience
Ability to travel occasionally (within Canada)
Be able to hold a Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Good Clearance
Must be a Canadian citizen
PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is an asset
Fluency in English is required
