POSITION:Director of Finance
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Executive Director, the Director of Finance is responsible to oversee the daily financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and operating budgets.
Preparing operating and capital budgets for various funders, and liaising with auditors and funders on financial matters.
Future financial planning including financial forecasting, compliance with all funder requirements and relevant legislation, positioning the organization for ongoing financial viability and the establishment of financial practices are also a requirement of this position. The incumbent is responsible to oversee the monthly and quarterly reporting requirements to management as well as external stakeholders, as outlined by Senior Management.
The incumbent will have the authority to make recommendations in all areas of department/program operations and may be responsible for leading short and long-term strategic direction, priorities and plans. They will ensure the ongoing alignment of departmental goals and the direction and priorities of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of a post-secondary graduation equivalent to a four (4) year degree in business studies with a professional accounting designation such as CPA Professional Designation (CA, CGA or CMA). An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered under the discretion of CLEC.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a financial and administrative management role. Proficient in the use of accounting and business software. Demonstrated knowledge of risk management, fiscal analysis and operational benchmarking and reporting. Proficiency in the basic applications of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software.
Must have at least general knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and agreements such as: MCCSS, Child and Family Services guidelines, Quality Standards, Employment Standards Act, Collective Agreement for Unionized Employees of Community Living Trent Highlands, Occupational Health and Safety, Developmental Services, etc.
Experience with budget development, financial management and control, and performance measurement are expected.
Salary:Hourly Wage Range: Step 1 – $50.33 – Step 4 $54.20
Annual Salary Range: Step 1 - $98,143.50 - Step 4 - $105,690.00
