What is the Opportunity:
The Project Manager plays a critical leadership role in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction and property management projects. This individual is responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to specifications. The Project Manager works directly with the Site Supervisor to ensure efficient field execution, safety, and quality control, and provides a consistent link between the site and office teams.
What you will do here:
• Oversee full project lifecycle: planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, and close-out
• Work closely with the Site Supervisor to coordinate field activities, address issues, and maintain site efficiency and safety
• Use AutoCAD software for design-build projects and throughout projects.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and trades to ensure project objectives are met
• Complete shop drawing review.
• Prepare and manage project schedules utilizing Microsoft Project.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and project estimates. Develop scope of work outlines. Solicit subtrade and material quotations. Negotiate and prepare purchase orders and subtrade contract documents.
• Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure work meets quality, safety, and contract standards
• Coordinate and collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and subtrades.
• Review invoices and prepare progress draw schedule of values to owners.
• Coordinate with government organizations for site plan, building permit and other related applications.
• Lead regular progress meetings with stakeholders and site teams
• Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations and internal safety policies
• Support and maintain project controls, including risk assessment and mitigation plans
• Facilitate smooth communication between office, field, clients, and third parties
• Participate in project debriefs and lessons learned reviews for continuous improvement
• This position will report to the General Manager
What qualifications you bring to the Team:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) construction project management
• Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
• Leadership and organizational skills. Must be detailed oriented and work well with a team.
• PMP or Gold Seal Certification (asset, but not required)
• Strong knowledge of Ontario Building Code, construction standards, safety regulations, and municipal permitting processes
• Proficiency in MS Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Experience with ERP and AutoCAD software.
• Self-starter with a positive work ethic & able to see a task through to its conclusion.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
• Must be able to manage confidential material and information with discretion.
• Driver’s license and own vehicle.
