Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement social media strategies on behalf of Fairmont Waterfront and ARC Restaurant + Bar appealing to local, national and global audiences.
  • Drive innovation and forward‑thinking ideas around community growth and engagement.
  • Maintain voice of both the hotel and restaurant in the digital space across all social media and digital platforms.
  • Manage and build relationships with our guests, and social media ambassadors in our online community (Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, Pinterest, YouTube, blog, newsletter, etc.) through social posts, community engagement, reposting all appropriate and relevant tagged content, etc.
  • Monitor hotel and restaurant social media accounts to ensure timely engagement, proactive reputation management, and social listening. Track sentiment, identify emerging conversations or issues, and elevate as appropriate to protect and enhance the brand’s online presence.
  • Manage influencer and content creator partnerships from outreach to on‑site hosting, including communications, contracts, deliverables, and scheduling.
  • Manage paid social media campaigns (Meta ad management, A/B testing, bid management, audience research).
  • Monitor paid social campaigns daily to ensure they are reaching targets (impressions, reach, CPC, CTR link clicks, etc.) and create campaign and channel performance reports.
  • Write, edit, and proofread digital content, which includes but is not limited to: blogs, website, digital ads, Google profile posts and social media posts, etc.
  • Develop, curate, and publish visually compelling content across platforms, including photography, video, and reels, ensuring alignment with brand standards and campaign objectives.
  • Build out content calendar for Meta applications, considering variations necessary between platforms (i.e., making separate posts and adjusting copywriting as necessary where certain CTA's are platform specific, etc.).
  • Create, plan, write, and post content locally in real time on other sites, (i.e., LinkedIn, Tiktok, Pinterest, etc.).
  • Manage and regularly update the three primary websites for both the hotel and restaurant, and build pages out across various CMS platforms (which includes, but is not limited to: landing pages, flexible content layout, cross‑linking throughout site, etc., while using SEO best‑practices, formatting imagery, re‑writing/editing copy, etc.).
  • Manage UGC acquired through various platforms, monitoring content populating our sites, filtering when necessary, and coordinating with team members to edit code when necessary.
  • Passion for photography and assist with supporting all photo and video shoots and take a lead role in content direction and asset management for the hotel.
  • Proficient in editing imagery and creating imagery as needed for various platform requirements, using Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro)
  • Filing all assets and content created and acquired in our local drive with relevant nomenclature in a timely and organized manner.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with digital media developments and pop‑culture trends.
  • Create monthly and yearly reports, pulling analytics from multiple platforms, covering metrics across social content tracking, ad/campaign results, global media publications. Filter information within platforms and transfer relevant numbers into each report. Present key metrics in monthly department meetings.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with all teams on various marketing projects, including planning and executing brand activations and events from start to finish.
  • Availability for events or meeting with influencers/media guests on occasion outside of work hours
  • Repost influencer content on weekends if applicable
  • Assist on various administrative tasks with local team and regional team upon request
  • Support and promote the hotel's sustainability efforts as active committee member
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a social media and digital marketing professional with a strong understanding of current trends, best practices, and performance analytics.
  • Confident content creator with demonstrated photography and videography skills, including the ability to capture, edit, and produce high‑quality imagery and reels that align with brand standards.
  • Computer literacy at an intermediate to advanced level is mandatory, with strong competency in Microsoft Office, and all major social media platforms.
  • Must be quick to learn and adapt to new digital tools; working knowledge of Adobe Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, Sprout Social, Meta Ads Manager, WordPress, BentoBox, Responsys, Google Analytics, Yext, Sprinklr, and Tint considered an asset.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for detail and storytelling.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to independently prioritize projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • A collaborative team player who approaches projects with creativity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to explore innovative ideas.
