Job summary

A leading IT services firm in Canada is seeking a Desktop Hardware Support Consultant to provide IT support in a fast-paced environment for a Federal Government client. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience, bilingual proficiency in English and French, and must hold valid Security Clearance. This position requires hands-on support for hardware and software issues, along with network management expertise. This is an on-site role in Vancouver.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in IT support roles.
  • Must have Security Clearance / Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to express themselves in both official languages (English-French).

About the Job

Mindwire Systems is seeking a Desktop Hardware Support Consultant to work in a fast‑paced environment for one of our valued Federal Government Clients.

These consultants will be working in the centre of excellence with the NCR Desktop Support Services team, the IT Service Desk and Centre of Expertise team providing IT support to the client user community.

Client Location: 300 Georgia St W, Suite 2000, Vancouver BC (ON‑SITE 5 Days).

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise / advice on network problem analysis, including monitoring network management systems.
  • Provide technical expertise / advice on IT incidents or problems that have been escalated, requiring in‑depth analysis to propose solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise, advice and troubleshooting assistance to IT Service Desk and Desktop Support resources regarding resolution of software and hardware issues associated with laptop/desktop computers, mobile devices/phones, peripherals/printers, RAM, video cards.
  • Monitor the IT Service Desk incident tracking and telephone systems.
  • Ability to disconnect, relocate and reconnect various IT equipment, such as PCs, laptops, printers and other hardware peripherals.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ability to express themselves in both official languages (English‑French).
  • Must have Security Clearance / Secret Clearance.
  • 10+ years of experience.
