This challenging and rewarding role requires an individual to supervise a range of court programs, services, and operational functions within courthouses in Gore Bay. You will manage the provision of services, facilitate the enforcement of court decisions, ensure the proper administration of court documents, and provide technical advice to staff and justice participants.

This dynamic frontline essential role thrives on your physical presence at the office. The Supervisor of Court Operations is expected to be on-site 5 days a week at the Gore Bay Courthouses.

• You can manage and supervise staff by communicating values, strategies, expectations and promote an engaged and inclusive environment.
• You can lead orientation and training for staff and coordinate operational activities, such as scheduling of staff and court caseloads.
• You can ensure that organizational standards and operational goals are met (e.g. contributing to succession planning, establishing performance standards, etc.).
• You can provide input into divisional and regional business planning processes.

• You have knowledge of human resources practices, policies, directives, and collective agreements in relation to recruitment, training and development and labour relations to support an inclusive and engaged team.
• You have knowledge of financial and administrative procedures to develop annual budgets, manage assets, and contract service providers.
• You can interpret and apply relevant legislation, case law, acts, regulations, and court rules, and provide technical direction to staff.
• You have knowledge of judiciary policy, compliance processes and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) protocol to support the delivery of justice-to-justice participants.

• You can provide information and advice to members of the legal profession, justice participants, internal stakeholders, and members of the public.
• You can use your tact, discretion, and political acuity to maintain confidentiality and deal effectively with people in sensitive or stressful situations.
• You can work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure coordination of services to the courts and the public.
• You have written communication skills to prepare briefing notes for senior management on local operational issues, and business cases/reports to support recommendations for changes to processes and service delivery.

• You can analyze operational processes, trends, and issues to identify opportunities for and recommend improvements to business processes.
• You can work with staff to implement approved process changes.
• You can investigate and resolve customer service issues.
• You can support the planning, coordination, and implementation of contingency plans to ensure the continuation of court services.
