Job summary
A scale service company in Delta is seeking a full-time scale technician to perform calibration and repair of weighing scales across Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Ideal candidates will be mechanically inclined, have customer service skills, and be willing to obtain necessary accreditations. This unionized position offers full benefits, including a pension plan and training opportunities.

- Mechanically inclined with ability to learn basic electronics.
- Preference for Class 3 driver’s licence or willingness to obtain one.
- Willing to undertake training for Measurement Canada accreditation.
Responsibilities
- Perform calibration, maintenance and repair of weighing scales.
- Travel to customer sites across lower mainland and Vancouver Island.
- Learn and apply basic electronics concepts for scale calibration.
Skills
We require a full-time employee to work as a scale technician with a scale company located on Annacis Island. Work area covered is all of the lower mainland of Vancouver and Vancouver Island.
- Perform calibration, maintenance and repair of weighing scales in the field and on-site.
- Travel to customer sites across the lower mainland and Vancouver Island; field work is common.
- Learn and apply basic electronics concepts relevant to scale calibration and repair.
- Provide courteous, professional service and work as part of a customer-focused team.
- Train to become accredited with Measurement Canada as an inspector to certify scales for legal trade.
- Mechanically inclined with ability to learn basic electronics.
- Preference given to a person with a Class 3 driver’s licence to drive our large weight truck, or willingness to obtain licence at a later date.
- Willing to undertake training to become Measurement Canada accredited as an inspector.
- Good with customers and able to work as part of a team.
This is a unionized position with full benefits including a pension plan. Hourly rate increases with levels of achievement.
Richmond Scale has serviced the lower mainland for 25 years and we calibrate and repair all weighing scales. Technicians will be provided with training and a vehicle as most of our jobs are in the field on-site.
