Plaza Auto Group's Orillia Kia location is seeking a motivated Apprentice Technician (2nd year or higher) to join our service team. The Apprentice Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing customer vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction. This role requires attention to detail, strong technical aptitude, and a commitment to learning and growing as a skilled technician.

• Compensation: $20.00 to $29.00 per hour. Split rates for Productive Labour Hours and working hours

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs with care and precision
• Diagnose malfunctions and carry out required repairs
• Conduct safety inspections and road tests
• Provide written, prioritized recommendations for additional work when needed
• Communicate findings and repair updates clearly to Service Advisors and team members
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and adhere to dealership standards
• Complete all training programs and stay up-to-date on technical knowledge and product features
• Support the dealership brand by providing excellent service and building customer loyalty

• Enrollment in a College Diploma or Trade School Certificate in Automotive Studies (minimum 2nd year) or equivalent
• Minimum two years’ experience as an Apprentice Automotive Service Technician
• Dealership experience preferred
• Strong technical/mechanical aptitude and product knowledge
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven
• Flexible and adaptable to changing tasks and priorities
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract
• Able to operate manual and automatic transmissions
• Basic computer literacy
