Overview

Field Service Technicians – Gas Fitter 1 and 2

Location: Ottawa Service Area

Work Hours: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm (or until the job is done)

Hourly Pay: $45-$50 / hour depending on C of Q and experience

C of Q: Gas Fitter 1 and 2 required; OBT1 would be great but not required

Known for manufacturing and servicing top-notch Boilers, Pumps, and Burners, they offer 24/7 servicing to clients within Ontario. We are seeking a new Field Service Technician to join this dynamic team, where you’ll play a crucial role in performing start-up services, troubleshooting, and repair activities on natural gas and light oil-fired industrial boilers in the field at customer sites.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on-site installations, preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, and testing tasks.
  • Maintain, service, and repair commercial and industrial process burners and boilers.
  • Use test equipment, meters, and your mechanical abilities to ensure proper operation.
  • Diagnose errors and technical problems, providing appropriate recommendations to customers.
  • Complete documentation such as field service reports, start-up reports, warranty forms, technical recommendation forms, etc.
  • Ensure truck inventory aligns with the recommended parts list.
  • Promote upgrades, parts sales, and new / rental boiler sales.
  • Perform basic electrical and mechanical repairs on boilers and auxiliary equipment.
  • Develop and maintain good customer relationships, representing the company professionally.
  • Understanding the importance of 5-star customer service alongside technical aptitude.
Qualifications
  • Level 1 or 2 gas licenses required.
  • OBT 1 oil license preferred (but not required)
  • 3+ years of experience as a service technician in a related industry
  • Experience with commercial / industrial hot water boiler systems
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems, and understanding of gas and oil combustion
  • Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, and technical bulletins.
  • Basic computer skills for completing service reports and logs.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
  • Must have own hand tools.
