A healthcare organization is seeking a HIM Specialist for a remote position. Responsibilities include acting as a subject matter expert for the patient portal, auditing compliance with state and federal guidelines, and assisting in policy development. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant certifications, and at least 3 years of experience in HIM and EHR systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, CRCR, or equivalent.
- 3 or more years of experience with Release of Information and HIM preferred.
Responsabilités

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the patient portal, including developing and running reports for quality and auditing purposes
- Audit release of information and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures while acting as a resource for staff in problem resolution
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D required; Associate's Degree preferred
- Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, CRCR, or equivalent
- 3 or more years of experience with Release of Information and HIM preferred
- 3 years of experience in Cerner Suite EHR Patient Portal experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
