Job summary

A national broadcaster in Moncton, New Brunswick, is seeking a speaker/close captioner to use voice recognition software and provide live closed captions. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree, three years of relevant experience, and fluency in French. The role is part-time and includes working under pressure while managing priorities. Knowledge of current events is essential. Only selected candidates will be contacted for an interview.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years' relevant experience including two (2) as a Closed Captioner.

Responsibilities

  • Use voice recognition software and closed-caption live programs.
  • Transcribe and broadcast the content of programs as closed captions.

Skills

Vast general knowledge
Knowledge of current events and newsmakers
Ability to work under pressure
Priority management and organizational skills
Knowledge of software that controls caption display
Knowledge of voice recognition software
Good knowledge of the MS Office suite
Fluent in French
Knowledge of English is an asset
