As part of Lumen’s fiber-to-the-home construction process, we are seeking a Senior Fiber Geographic Information System Analyst who will be responsible for mediating changes to GIS polygons and service location coordinates, collaborating with business and field employees to identify and resolve discrepancies, and utilizing GIS software to edit and maintain geospatial databases. Success in this position will require excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and resolve conflicting data.

Work Location

This position has been designated as fully remote in the U.S.

• Develop and modify polygons representing areas being enabled with fiber in coordination with planning, engineering, and construction team.
• Mediate changes to GIS polygons and service location coordinates received from various departments within the organization.
• Work across teams to resolve polygon overlaps as they develop.
• Collaborate with business and field employees to identify and correct discrepancies in geospatial data.
• Utilize GIS software to edit and update geospatial databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Maintain documentation of GIS processes and data management practices.
• Identify opportunities to implement simplified rules and workflows for teams to self-resolve data conflicts and work with data science and software teams to implement workflow automations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in GIS analysis and database management.
• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
• Familiarity with fiberoptic network construction practices

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Experience with spatial analysis and cartography.
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or SQL for GIS applications.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$82,969 - $110,625 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

$87,117 - $116,156 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$91,266 - $121,688 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
