Temporary Full Time Opportunity (up to 2 years)

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine’s Division of Genome Diagnostics, at BC Children’s and BC Women’s Hospitals, offers a CCMG Genetic and Genomic Diagnostics Fellowship to qualified, motivated individuals with excellent communication skills seeking a career in clinical laboratory genetics.

This fellowship provides supervised training to become a competent clinical laboratory genetics specialist, including participation in academic and clinical activities, case interpretation, test development, and collaboration on provincial initiatives. Responsibilities also include providing consultative services to healthcare providers and participating in quality and administrative committees, as well as teaching trainees and students.

The department offers diagnostic care for BC’s perinatal population, including prenatal, newborn, biochemical, and constitutional genetics, working with health authorities to establish standards and evaluate new technologies. The division focuses on inherited diseases using genetic and genomic approaches, leading advancements in genome-wide sequencing and integrated care models.

• PhD with strong genetics content AND/OR
• MD degree with at least 3 years of RCPSC or CMQ-accredited residency training
