A local health organization in Sioux Lookout seeks a Pharmacy Technician to monitor medication stock, dispense medications, and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include preparation of medications, maintaining accurate records, and supporting infection control measures. Required qualifications include registration as a Pharmacy Technician and experience in pharmacy practice. The position offers a competitive salary in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.
Under the direction of a Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician monitors and maintains medication stock in the hospital, fills medication orders for in‑patients, prepares compounds and parenteral mixtures, performs duties related to the vaccine program, and monitors controlled substances throughout the hospital. The Pharmacy Technician works within the scope of work and standards of practice for Pharmacy Technicians and is registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. The Pharmacy Technician will work collaboratively with other professionals and all members of the interdisciplinary health‑care team at Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) to support and enhance the services of the Pharmacy Department and ensure the provision of safe, holistic, patient‑centered care to our clients.
$28.95 – $35.15, in accordance with the CUPE Collective Agreement.
