A health services provider in Canada is seeking a Zone Clinical Department Facility Chief (ZCDFC) for the Adult Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit at Sturgeon Community Hospital. Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Department Facility Chief (ZCDFC), Adult Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – Sturgeon Community Hospital (SCH).
This 0.15 FTE position is governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Zone Clinical Department Head (ZCDH), Adult Critical Care and to the Facility Medical Director (FMD), SCH. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
This position provides input into the development of policies and criteria for procedures as they relate to the Adult Critical Care Intensive Care Unit, as well as reviewing and recommending privileges for physicians working within the Adult Critical Care Department. It is accountable for, but not limited to the following:
The position has an expected start date of approximately May 1, 2026 and an expected term of 3 years.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation, as well as a passion for quality and patient safety working as part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
