Job Description: The Journeyman Electrician will work as part of a team to install, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, control devices, and related equipment in a manufacturing environment. This individual will have the ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications to provide troubleshooting and repair services. The Journeyman Electrician will also routinely perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and components in order to ensure the continued safe, efficient and effective operations of all equipment and fixtures utilized by the organization. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions, including but not limited to:

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of all electrical equipment, electric motors, and power panels.
• Possesses good knowledge in electrical equipment and systems such as UPS, power transformers, synchronous motor, power generator, control and coordination system.
• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs plant production equipment, including mechanical, pump, pneumatic, electrical, and electronics equipment.
• Exercise good judgment, balance multiple priorities, and provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed.
• Maintain specified records of work performed, details of repairs, and materials usage.
• Performs general plant maintenance as needed.
• Performs cost-cutting modifications that improve safety and boost machine productivity.
• Responsible for all kinds of motor controls, operating machinery, etc.
• Performs routing day to day monitoring inside the plant, such as lightings fixtures and air-conditioning.
• Completes check-ups on all controls and equipment like conveyors, cartoon sealers, and packaging machines.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 309A Electrician Construction and Maintenance Certification.
• Minimum grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of food manufacturing experience an asset.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and value team effort.
• Must be dependable and comfortable with decision-making.
• Good computer skills are required.
• Self-starter who is willing to take the initiative and be a team player.
• Provide timely and high-quality work with exceptional attention to detail.
• Solid people and communication skills (both oral and written).
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
