Our work with Indigenous Nations is dedicated to supporting holistic, community‑led transformation across governance, administration, economic development, and community well‑being. Working collaboratively with leadership, we leverage Deloitte’s multidisciplinary capabilities to align with the unique priorities of each Nation, helping to develop actionable strategies and tailored solutions that empower communities to achieve their long‑term vision of success and prosperity.

We also help guide corporate entities and non‑Indigenous governments in understanding and fulfilling their critical role in Nation Building. Through the co‑creation of reconciliation strategies and Indigenous engagement plans, we foster authentic relationships built on mutual respect and a shared vision. Our approach encourages deeper connections and meaningful collaboration, enabling organizations to work in partnership with communities to drive positive, lasting change.

As a Consultant in the Nation Building Advisory Practice, your primary responsibility will be to support the team in delivering projects and meeting client expectations. You will play an essential role in assisting with the execution of strategic advisory services for Indigenous Nations, ensuring that project objectives are met on time and within scope. You’ll work closely with senior team members to support business development efforts and contribute to the overall success of client engagements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the development and delivery of Nation‑building projects in areas such as governance, administration, economic development and social services, while assisting in the design and implementation of solutions in sectors such as infrastructure and major projects, health care, education, and child welfare that align with the priorities of Indigenous communities.
• Assisting project teams with gathering and analyzing data to develop evidence‑based findings.
• Researching and synthesizing information to create concise, executive‑style summaries to support decision‑making and client presentations.
• Collaborating with senior team members to help prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations that reflect the priorities of Indigenous communities.
• Supporting client communication and relationship‑building efforts to ensure project alignment and client satisfaction.
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth project execution and alignment with client needs.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely; however, it’s important to note that some travel may be required to fulfill job responsibilities. The extent and frequency of travel will depend on specific project needs and collaboration requirements.

• Mental Health Support: Access up to $4,000 in mental health support, ensuring a holistic approach to your well‑being.

• Flexible Ways of Work: Work remotely, in your community, or in one of our offices equipped with smudge rooms and Downie Wenjack Legacy Spaces.
• Indigenous Employee Resource Groups: Engage with communities like the Indigenous and Allies Community, Indigenous Community, and Indigenous Professional Circle for networking, events, and peer support.

• Self‑identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, Inuk) in Canada.
• Have 2-4 years of experience in consulting, public policy, or working with Indigenous Nations and organizations.
• Hold a degree or diploma in a relevant field such as business, public administration, Indigenous studies, or a related discipline.
• Possess deep experience working with Indigenous communities, including a strong understanding of governance structures, cultural values, traditions, and social dynamics.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity, with the ability to build trust and work respectfully in collaboration with Indigenous communities.
• Are proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint for creating professional presentations and Excel for analyzing and managing data.
• Have experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data and large amounts of information into concise, actionable insights and executive‑style reports.
• Work effectively in multidisciplinary teams, contributing to projects in governance, strategy, and operations while ensuring collaboration and alignment.
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
• Exhibit a strong willingness to learn and grow professionally while contributing to meaningful projects that support Indigenous Nations.

The salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
