Job Summary

Reporting to the Aftermarket Manager, the Field Service Technician will be responsible to travel to customer sites to assemble, setup & repair equipment, train client’s staff in proper operation the machine being installed. The Field Service Technician will also be responsible to conduct sales related machine demonstrations. When not travelling, the Field Service Technician will help with machine assembly, machine testing, training, quality control and documentation, factory acceptance testing assistance, as well as customer demonstrations, in our facilities in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

We are looking for a Field Service Technician with the following:
  • 3+ yrs. of experience in machine assembly, troubleshooting and installation in packaging equipment and assembly lines, or experience in a similar position.
  • Able to travel without restrictions (50% of the time and more)
  • DEC (mechanical/electrical) minimum education.
  • Experience with client interactions: Capable of handling a delicate situation with tact., Able to communicate the process and plan of action in a calm and tactful manner, able to manage the customer relationship.
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitudes are necessary.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Trouble shoot equipment, identify, and fix problems.
  • Test equipment to make sure it performs according to specifications.
  • Evaluate machine functionality and propose continuous improvements.
  • Analyze customer requirements and specifications.
  • Support customers (phone, and in person) on the operation and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Solve and facilitate customer service issues as they arise.
  • Set-up and disassemble trade show displays at convention centers.
  • Excellent communication skills, in both English and French (The majority of our customers and suppliers communicate in English).
Non required but considered assets:
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical line packaging or related equipment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of CAD software such as Inventor is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of programming (ex. loading programs into machine) is an asset.

Sous la responsabilité du responsable du département Aftermarket, le technicien de service sur le terrain sera chargé de se rendre sur les sites des clients pour assembler, configurer et réparer l'équipement, former le personnel du client au bon fonctionnement de la machine installée. Le technicien de terrain sera également chargé d'effectuer des démonstrations de machines liées à la vente. Lorsqu'il n'est pas en déplacement, le technicien du service sur le terrain participera à l'assemblage et aux essais des machines, à la formation, au contrôle de la qualité et à la documentation, aux essais d'acceptation en usine, ainsi qu'aux démonstrations pour les clients, dans nos installations à Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue.

Nous recherchons un technicien d'intervention sur le terrain ayant les compétences suivantes :
  • ExpĂ©rience de plus de 3 ans dans l'assemblage de machines, le dĂ©pannage et l'installation d'Ă©quipements d'emballage et de lignes d'assemblage, ou expĂ©rience dans un poste similaire.
  • Capable de voyager sans restriction (50 % du temps et plus).
  • DEC (mĂ©canique/Ă©lectricitĂ©) minimum.
  • ExpĂ©rience en matière d'interaction avec les clients : Capable de gĂ©rer une situation dĂ©licate avec tact., capable de communiquer le processus et le plan d'action de manière calme et avec tact, capable de gĂ©rer la relation avec le client.
  • Des aptitudes en mĂ©canique et en Ă©lectricitĂ© sont nĂ©cessaires.
  • CapacitĂ© Ă  lire des dessins techniques.
  • DĂ©panner l'Ă©quipement, identifier et rĂ©soudre les problèmes.
  • Tester l'Ă©quipement pour s'assurer qu'il fonctionne conformĂ©ment aux spĂ©cifications.
  • Évaluer la fonctionnalitĂ© des machines et proposer des amĂ©liorations continues.
  • Analyser les exigences et les spĂ©cifications des clients.
  • Assister les clients (par tĂ©lĂ©phone et en personne) sur le fonctionnement et le dĂ©pannage de l'Ă©quipement.
  • RĂ©soudre et faciliter les problèmes de service Ă  la clientèle lorsqu'ils se prĂ©sentent.
  • Monter et dĂ©monter des stands d'exposition dans des centres de congrès.
  • Excellentes aptitudes Ă  la communication, en anglais et en français ((La majoritĂ© de nos clients et fournisseurs communiquent en anglais).
Non requis mais considéré comme un atout :
  • Connaissance de l'espagnol
  • La connaissance de l'emballage des lignes pharmaceutiques ou de l'Ă©quipement connexe est un atout.
  • La connaissance de logiciels de CAO tels qu'Inventor est un atout.
  • Une connaissance de base de la programmation (ex. chargement de programmes dans la machine) est un atout.
