Job summary
A logistics company in Canada is looking for a driver to operate trucks and ensure the safe transport of goods. Responsibilities include planning routes to minimize fuel consumption, performing inspections, and loading/unloading cargo. Candidates must possess a Class 1 or A driver’s license and have between 1 to 7 months of driving experience. This position supports environmental goals and is strictly on-site, with no remote work options available.

- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy
- Load and unload goods
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
