Job summary

A health care provider in Nipigon Township is seeking a Medical Lab Tech to perform testing and support patient care. Candidates should be graduates of a Medical Lab Technology program and hold current registration with the relevant college. Responsibilities include performing and reporting routine tests in various lab areas, while working collaboratively in a team. Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic are required. The position may involve on-call duties.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis and serology.
  • Record and report test results accurately.

Rate of Pay: As per Collective Agreement
Hours of Work: Include On-Call Rotation/Holidays/Weekends
Start Date: ASAP

Qualifications
  • Graduate of a Medical Lab Technology Post-Secondary Program
  • Current/eligible registration with College of Medical Lab Technologists of Ontario
  • Medical Lab Technology experience. Experience considered to be an asset includes sample collection, preparation and handling of specimens, recording and reporting results. Performing routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology and coagulation. Competent in ECG administration
  • Meditech experience an asset
  • Proficient with computer applications
  • High level of initiative and self-direction
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team
  • Demonstrated behaviour consistent with the CMLTO Code of Conduct
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attendance record is imperative
  • Must be able to take call
