Full time – 40 Hrs./ week

CCIS (Calgary Catholic Immigration Society) is a nonprofit organization that provides settlement and integration services to all immigrants and refugees in Southern Alberta.Since our inception in 1981, we have been a community leader with solid experience in the design and delivery of comprehensive services for our newest neighbours. We deliver these services through a dynamic multi-cultural, multi-denominational and multi-disciplinary team of professionals who collectively speak over 60 languages.

From airport reception to a first job interview, CCIS’s programs and services have been designed to assist immigrants and refugees through all phases of the settlement and integration process. CCIS is committed to welcoming and serving newcomers of all races, ethnic and national origins, cultural backgrounds and religions, sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions.

CCIS – Business, Employment and Training Services (BETS) Division:

Obtaining sustainable employment is a primary goal for the majority of the clients/students who attend the programs and utilize the services delivered by our BETS division. Our aim is to deliver programs that prepare individuals for economic independence within the realities of today’s Canadian workplace. Our experienced and knowledgeable BETS staff and volunteers achieve excellence through the design and delivery of many practical employment and training initiatives.

Job Summary

TFW Case Worker for the Calgary (YYC) Airport services will provide client-centred services to address the needs of TFWs in Southern Alberta. Main duties include receiving temporary foreign workers at the Calgary International Airport, delivering group information and orientation sessions, and reaching out to and engaging with TFW employers, consulates, unions and other stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Receive workers at the Calgary International Airport, and provide information, orientation, and facilitate the landing
  • Conduct outreach activities to establish relationship with consulates, TFW employers, community groups, unions, as well as other entities to identify when and how many TFWs will be arriving on any given inbound
  • Leverage existing partnerships and create new ones to facilitate direct access to holistic support, system navigation and referrals for TFWs and
  • Purchase and prepare all necessary materials and supplies needed for airport
  • Facilitate interpretation and translation services to clients, service providers and employers.
  • Transcribe and enter client information to the database for accurate record keeping, administering client feedback surveys, and submitting regular reports on program activities and
  • Provide relevant, individualized referrals to clients and conduct timely follow- ups to assess if the client’s needs have been met
  • Deliver tailored plain-language information and orientation sessions on issues that affect TFWs, such as TFW Rights and Responsibilities, community resources, and other information that will help the TFWs successfully settle and integrate in Alberta.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Program Coordinator or the Program Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Post-Secondary Degree and/or Diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Social Sciences, Education or related fields is
  • Previous experience working with newcomer populations, especially Temporary Foreign Workers, considered a strong
  • Knowledge of community programs, services, and government resources in relation to living and working in Alberta is considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent in communication both oral and written, workshop facilitation and presentation skills, time management and interpersonal
  • Has a positive attitude, is flexible, reliable, proactive, accountable, and takes initiative.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and possess the ability to perform duties independently in a fast-paced
  • Ability to communicate in an additional language(s) is considered an Filipino, Spanish or French language would be preferred.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs is
  • Available to work flexible/irregular hours including evenings and
  • Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable
